Tall sculptural vessel

Ø 29 cm (11.5"), H 42 cm (16.5")

Thinly turned from a solid, green oak log—sourced as an offcut from a local sawmill. As the piece dried, cracks opened from the heart; discreet joints were added to regulate the timber’s natural tension. Its tapering base gives the vessel a grounded presence, while the slanted rim introduces a quiet asymmetry. A striking medallion of sapwood forms a unique focal point, underscoring the vessel’s sculptural quality. Afterwards deeply smoked to enrich the tone.
